Bill Lee Davis: US Navy

Billy is a grandson of John & Kizzie.

Billy served in the Navy aboard the USS ARD-5 from 1960-64. The ARD-5 was a Class Auxiliary Repair Dock ( a floating dock) tasked for submarine repair.

The cold war began at the end of World War II, Korea and Vietnam were flashpoints, but not the beginning.

We use the dates January 1, 1961 to August 14, 1974 for service during the Vietnam War Era based on the criteria for the National Defense Service Medal.
